EDF Athlete 3D – 2012 – KRDS (Facebook PMD)
As a project manager, I fully prototyped and leaded the development of Athletes 3D app, an immersive experience created for EDF for London 2012 Olympics. EDF Group, one of the European and UK’s largest energy companies, largest producer of low-carbon electricity & partner of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, is constantly striving to be a step ahead with innovation and new energy solution. In 2012 the company invested in the Olympic Park and designed a great VR experience for its visitors its stand: an interactive virtual encounter for a unique memory trail. At the EDF Pavilion visitors were able to experience a top of the edge augmented reality technology app taking a picture of themselves in the virtual space on the highest step on the podium next to British cycling champion Victoria Pendleton or French swimming champion Yannick Agnel : the AR will bring them to life and showcase the picture on the Athletes 3D app. Over the fortnight, pictures taken at the Park day by day were uploaded onto the app in a Photogallery to showcase Olympic memories that exceed the bounds of physical reality. A great solution for EDF fans to enjoy and keep up on the Olympics remotely.
